How to apply adhesive anti-slip strips to a wooden staircase

Applying this anti-slip stair strip is easy and you don't have to be particularly handy to do it. The strip has a strong adhesive layer on the bottom that adheres well to most hard surfaces. This adhesive layer is protected with a paper layer that you need to remove before applying the strip.

Here are some tips for doing it right:

  • Make sure the non-slip strip is at room temperature. This makes the strip smoother and easier to apply.
  • First, cut all the strips to the correct length. Start at the longest step; if you make a mistake, you can still use the strip for a shorter step.
  • Make sure the step is clean and preferably degreased.
  • Put some marks where the strip should go. The best distance is about 2 cm from the front of the step.
  • Start by loosening the paper protective covering, touching the adhesive layer as little as possible. Apply the strip piece by piece (about 15 cm at a time).
  • Press the strip down well, preferably with a roller, but a tennis ball also works well.

If you follow these steps, it's a job done in a few hours, and you'll have safe stairs for years to come. We also have a handy video showing you how to apply this anti-slip strip.

Are anti-slip strips suitable for painted stairs

This anti-slip strip with self-adhesive layer is perfect for painted stairs. In the Netherlands nowadays many stairs are painted, which is an important part of living and interior design. Most stairs are made of pine or spruce. With modern paint you can easily provide these materials with a nice color coating.

An anti-slip strip for painted stairs provides excellent grip, as painted stairs can often become slippery. A wider strip not only provides better grip, but also protects the paint layer from rapid wear and tear.

Why non-skid stair strips are essential for safe stairs

Stair strips applied to stairs in a house is very important. In the Netherlands there are many stairs that are steep, so you cannot place your foot completely on the step, especially walking down is very dangerous with these narrow steps.

The best anti-slip strips for indoor use

For stairs in the home, wide and strong non-skid stair strips offer more safety and security when climbing stairs. The wide anti-slip strip offers a lot of support to your foot, which gives a safe feeling when walking down stairs.

Even with bare feet, these wide strips do not feel sharp, which makes them also extremely suitable for young children. By choosing our high-quality non-skid stair strips, you significantly increase safety and comfort in your home.

Adhesive non-slip strips versus non-slip paint

Self-adhesive anti-slip strips offer a superior solution compared to an anti-slip paint. These strips have a significantly longer lifespan, especially with heavy use such as stair climbing.

While anti-slip paint can wear off quickly, self-adhesive anti-slip strips stay firmly in place and last for years. Choose durable and reliable self-adhesive anti-slip strips for maximum safety and long-lasting results.
